— Practice 02
Breathwork
An hour of deliberate breathing, held in a circle, that does more for a tired nervous system than a week of good intentions.
The circle gathers as the light goes orange. Bolsters, blankets, no incense theatrics — Kiên explains what the breath is about to do to your blood chemistry in plain language, and then you begin.
The session moves between classical pranayama, which slows and lengthens, and conscious connected breathing, which does something closer to the opposite. Hands tingle. Old feelings surface without being invited. Nobody is asked to perform catharsis.
It closes in silence, flat on your back, listening to the frogs start up in the paddy behind the garden. Most people sleep unusually well afterwards.
“Breath is the only part of the autonomic nervous system you can take the wheel of. That is a strange amount of power for something free.”
In the practice.
- How a session runs
- Twenty minutes of orientation and slow breathing, twenty-five minutes of active breath, then integration and rest.
- Who it suits
- Anyone carrying stress, poor sleep or a busy head. No experience needed and no flexibility required.
- What to bring
- A layer for afterwards — body temperature drops during integration. Eat lightly beforehand.
Good to know.
- Speak to us first if you live with epilepsy, cardiovascular conditions, or are pregnant.
- Sessions are capped at twelve people.
- Pairs well with a sound bath the same evening.
